Eliot is a
partner in Reed Smith’s Business Immigration Practice Group,
which has offices in London, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., New
York, Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Virginia. He
regularly advises technology, staffing, manufacturing, and
multinational corporations on recruiting foreign managers,
executives, researchers, health care professionals and
engineers. He also helps movie producers move cast and crew
around the world. His expertise includes transfers of executives
and managers for foreign multinationals to U.S. operations and
Homeland Security issues affecting business travel and visa
issuance. His firm also represents foreign physicians, health
care providers and medical staffing companies. Eliot is a former
Federal Prosecutor.
He has lectured widely on
Immigration and Background/Security Check issues for industry
and bar groups in the United States, including the American
Staffing Association, Software Industry & Information
Association, the Association of Film Commissioners
International, the French American Chambers of Commerce, and
JETRO sponsored seminars in Washington, D.C., Tokyo and Los
