The
Startup Booster main goal is to provide support to early stage
entrepreneurs through a series of workshops where high-caliber professionals
of the French American Chamber of Commerce (FACCSF) act as experts and
mentors. They will assist individuals interested in developing a
business proposition and improve on their entrepreneurial skills. They will also help develop
robust business models and attractive
business plans for professional investors and/or budget holders within a
larger organization.
The FACCSF
Entrepreneurs and Life Science Committees will provide program participants
with strong professional skills, expertise in the bioscience field, and
experience with fund raising and start up growth. By the end of the program, as a participant:

will be connected to the extensive FACCSF network, including many high-level decision makers

You will have
acquired a fresh yet firm understanding of what it takes to start your own
business or develop new business strategies

You have a chance to
present your business plan to a panel of experts and
potential investors
and to win a prize attributed to the best business plan and
presentation.
In
addition, the winner of the competition will get a prize to help get
started with the business.

If Selected

You will attend a
8 workshop sessions (2 hours
weekly meetings with expert presentation and interaction with your mentor)

You will be given in between
session homework

You will be assigned 1 or 2 mentors,
who will follow your project during the program

The participation
fee is $500 and a membership to the FACCSF is required (Fee is not refundable)

You would dedicate
time regularly during the program, during and / or outside the workshop
sessions; you would be providing one on one advice and coaching to a
particular participant

Time involvement:
regular throughout the seminar

. . An Expert:

You would make a
presentation on a topic (see dates, week # and topics above) and share your expertise
and experiences with the Start up Booster Participants, preparation of
presentation, reading materials and / or homework may be required

Time involvement:
1 evening in the seminar and preparation

. . A
member of the Jury:

You would listen
to the participants make their final presentation, and collectively
designate the best business plan and presentation (most viable or
"bankable" project") and share your expertise and experiences with the
participants in a post session get together

Time involvement:
1 morning or afternoon at the end of the seminar for the closing
session (Wednesday, June 14th)
