Denis
Lucquin is Managing Partner and Chairman of Sofinnova Partners.
He joined Sofinnova SA in 1991. He is a graduate in engineering from
Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole du Génie Rural des Eaux et Forêts. Denis
began his career in academic research. For five years, he was in
charge of the technology transfer department at the Institut National
de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA), France's agricultural research
institute. In 1989, he joined the venture capital industry as director
of investments at Innolion (Crédit Lyonnais). He carried out many
investments in France and other European countries in companies such
as Nicox, Exonhit, IDM, Neurotech, Innate Pharma, Neuro 3D, Oxford
Glycosciences, Oxford Molecular, PPL Therapeutics, Crop Design, Metris
Therapeutics, Cerenis, Ablynx, Novexel and Noxxon. He sits on the
board of many of these companies. Denis is also a founder of
Association France Biotech.
Jean
Schmitt joined Sofinnova Partners' Information Technology team as
Partner in December 2001. He focuses on opportunities in the telecom
and consumer electronics industries. Prior to joining Sofinnova
Partners, Jean Schmitt was the CEO and founder of SLP InfoWare, a
world leader in predictive customer relationship management software
for the telecom industry, which he sold to Gemplus in 2000. Jean
Schmitt then became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SLP
InfoWare and Vice President, Telecom Solutions and Applications at
Gemplus. He graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des
Télécommunications (ENST) and has a post-graduate degree in Artificial
Intelligence. He is guest lecturer at Telecom Paris.
Jean Schmitt is a Board Member of Esmertec (SWX:ESMN), CTS, Upek,
Sensitive Object, Inside Contactless,Filao, Streamezzo and Accent.
