As you know, U.S. taxpayers (individuals, businesses, corporations, partnerships, etc.) are required to report their world-wide income and disclose their involvement in world-wide businesses and financial affairs to the U.S. IRS.  Failure to properly report these transactions can result in substantial penalties and even jail sentences.

The Swiss-American and the French American Chambers of Commerce are pleased to present a seminar which will help you understand the income tax and compliance issues surrounding the holding of assets outside the U.S.

Ms. Crista Lucey, CPA, of Spott, Lucey & Wall, Inc. CPA's will present the seminar and provide an outline of many assets held by U.S. taxpayers outside the U.S. Crista has over 22 years of experience working with international transactions and international people. She will lead a lively discussion of the tax issues surrounding the holding of the more common types of assets but will also be available to discuss the less common ones. Some of the assets she will talk about include the holding of bank and security accounts, treatment of foreign mutual funds (passive foreign investment companies), real estate (personal and rentals), gifts from foreign persons, etc.

If you would like to see an advance copy of the outline, please send her an email at
Crista.Lucey@SpottLuceyWall-CPAs.com and she will have a copy e-mailed to you before the presentation.

We look forward to seeing you at this informative and important event.
