DESCRIPTION:We have the pleasure to showcase Denise Lurton-Moullé. A
remarkable storyteller\, Denise will speak of her years leading tours
for Americans in France\, her experience with cultural differences\, and
her incredible stories... \n\nPlease note that the registration is done
both on our website (www.faccsf.com/Events/WIBJan09.htm#registration) and
at the door.\n\n------------------\nMore about our fascinating
speaker:\n\nBorn and raised amid the vineyards of Bordeaux\, France\,
Denise grew up immersed in the life of a wine-producing family. After her
studies at the University of Bordeaux\, Denise worked in Paris and
immigrated to San Francisco in 1975. She opened two wine stores in the
Bay Area and created her own wine business marketing Bordeaux wines all
over the US. For twenty years\, she traveled all over the country. \n\nIn
1987\, she created with her husband Jean-Pierre Moullé\, the executive
chef at Chez Panisse in Berkeley\, her company "Two Bordelais"
(www.twobordelais.com)\, which offers intimate guided tours to
hard-to-find corners of France. These destinations are well off the usual
tourist routes\, enabling visitors to experience the disappearing life of
"la France profonde" through private visits to farms\, wineries\,
dairies\, and other strongholds of artisanal tradition. The unique tours
  - designed\, marketed\, and led by Denise and Jean-Pierre - have received
repeated and enthusiastic press coverage\, including articles in
Gourmet\, The Wine Spectator\, and The New York Times. In 1995\, in order
to spend more time with her daughters and pursue her studies in
alternative therapies\, Denise closed her marketing wine company.\n
\nSince then she has earned several diplomas and has established a
private practice in Berkeley. She now spends the winter in California\,
where she continues her therapeutic practice\; during the summer\, she
leads her tours\, which now include South Africa as a destination. Her
love for South Africa has also inspired her to organize aid and support
for orphanages and women's small businesses.\nDenise can be contacted by
  e-mail at denise-moulle@wanadoo.fr \n\n\n\n\n
