Anne: "I started volunteering at the FACCSF in September 2003. That was my first job's experience, here, in United States. What I needed, at that time, was the opportunity to start again in a professional environment. I worked 2 months, 4 days a week, helping in the organization of the event "The Beaujolais & Beyond Festival" (which took place on November 22) by raising funds, searching for food, wine and silent auction's sponsors. I've found a job now, but I don't forget my experience at the FACCSF, as it was rewarding in different ways: The event on which I worked was a success, and I felt the importance of what had been accomplished;
- The FACCSF is the best way to get into contact with many enterprises, and I interacted a lot with the French and American communities;
- I was able to add another great reference on my resume.
I am really glad I worked there with these nice people, and I encourage everyone who has some spare time to volunteer at the FACCSF!"
Yetunde: "Volunteering for the Chamber has been a very rewarding experience for me. It has enabled me to participate in many different networking events that have in turn helped me to develop business contacts for future jobs. The Chamber entrusted me with numerous responsibilities such as organizing this year's fashion show for the Beaujolais Nouveau and Beyond festival. I would not trade my experience at the Chamber for anything in the world. Furthermore, at the Chamber we work as hard as we play, in other words, there is a "super ambiance"
Edouard:"As a trainee at the French-American Chamber of San Francisco, I helped with the preparation of many networking events and in particular in famous "the Beaujolais wine & Beyond Festival". I was in charge of the logistics for this event, and I have learned much on the organization and the investment required for such a project. Thanks to this internship among the French- American community, I was not lost when I arrived from France, I have had a progressive approach of the American culture and learned the language without difficulties."
Antoine: "As an intern at the French American chamber of Commerce North California Chapter, you learn to multitask. My major mission is to make sure that the website runs perfectly, but I have to deal with many other aspects: event planning and organization, dealing with requests, mailings...This internship is particularly interesting as there are plenty of tasks to achieve and it is not a daily routine!!!!"
