Fri, 2013-05-17 06:58
Many shops, bars and other venues like to entertain customers visually with TV, but keep the sound muted. Giving customers sound access via their mobile devices is one way to re-connect the audience – with the programme, with each other and with local services.

A study carried out in March by Motorola Mobility*, the Illinois, US-based ICT equipment corporation owned by Google, among 9,500 consumers in 17 countries, found that on the one hand, an increasing number of viewers were adopting a multi-screen habit of watching television, but on the other hand, a majority of viewers also wanted TV-watching to be a more social experience.

Wed, 2013-05-15 08:30
Providing the appropriate tools will help to set up collaborative projects in cities and encourage people to express their views on the kind of city they would like to be living in. Of course it is unlikely that all cities will be able to follow this collaborative approach.

Interview with Lauren Anderson, Chief Knowledge Officer at Sydney-based Collaborative Lab, the global advisory services arm of CollaborativeConsumption.com. L’Atelier caught up with her at a panel session on the ‘Shareable City’ at the OuiShareFest event held on 2 - 4 May in Paris.

Largest internet population, still minimum impact

Tue, 2013-05-14 00:33
Few days ago, I had a chance to welcome a bunch of students who come from one American University in Boston region. I gave them a short and simple presentation regarding China internet business. In the end, what really strikes me is no matter how China throws out glaring internet statistics and potentials; so far its digital impact still remains weak outside of China.

I could not say I did a fantastic presentation. But I did ask these students whether they know Baidu or Tencent. They shook their heads and I thought I had to stop asking their knowledge of Alibaba, Sina Microblogging etc.

Clinicast bets on predictive analytics to optimize healthcare system management

Fri, 2013-05-10 10:00
Clinicast develops solutions which draw on and analyze data from US healthcare providers so as to help optimize their organization, workflow and cost management.

Very few people would dispute that the US healthcare system is simply not sustainable in the long term. First and foremost costs are too high. The United States spends around $2.7 trillion on health costs per year, equivalent to just under 17% of GDP.In addition the architecture of the system is too fragmented: hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers all use different standards, and there are very few channels for linking up the data generated in one medical establishment with another.
