The American Resume has different standards/benchmark than the French Resume.
Here are a few rules to observe:
-Personal details: only your full name, address, email address and phone number are required.
You must avoid irrelevant data like: date of birth/place of birth/ age/ marital status
-Do not put on your photograph
-At the top, mention your title and/or your career objective for instance “Project Manager – looking for a new challenge in technical support” or “Web page developer”
-Chronological and skills resumes are both accepted
-The length should be one page - two pages at most
-Get straight to the point: if it does not support your job objective, cut it out
-Be precise and clear. Avoid terms like “various responsibilities”
-Highlight accomplishments and results
-Use action verbs – write short phrases
-Be precise in your starting and ending job dates and graduation dates as well
-Mention your English level
-Mention your community involvement and volunteer activities

-If mailing or emailing a resume, always include a cover letter
-Do not repeat your resume
-Get straight to the point
-Align your experience with the desired qualifications
-Close with an action statement: let the employer know that you desire further contact
